  • Psilocybin enhances autobiographical memories and promotes recall increased activity in areas of the brain that process visual and other sensory information offers the potential to enhance creative thinking (Carhart-Harris et al. 2012)

  • The expanded state of consciousness promotes the growth of associations created by the brain under the influence of the drug - this provides access to a dream-like state, so helps activate the unconscious associated with dreams, and also helps in creative thinking and problem solving, while having a therapeutic effect by accessing the "primal part" of the brain (Tagliazucchi et al. 2014)

  • Increases communication and interaction between different parts of the brain Which are normally disconnected in the sober state. Brain functions under psilocybin can be characterized as less constrained and more inter-communicative compared to the sober state of the brain. (Petri et al. 2014)

  • Psilocybin has the potential to treat anxiety and depression. Thus, psilocybin leads to a decrease in the reactivity of the amygdala, which in turn correlates with positive mood. (Kraehenmann et al. 2014)

  • Psilocybin use has resulted in significant reductions in OCD symptoms (Moreno et al. 2006) - Psilocybin reduces pain and cluster headache symptoms (Vollenweider & Kometer 2010; Sun-Edelstein & Mauskrop 2011)

  • Psilocybin helps in the treatment of alcohol and tobacco addiction 12 out of 15 participants in the experiment (80%) abstained from tobacco use for six months of follow-up, while current tobacco addiction treatments have much lower success rates, not exceeding 35% (Johnson et al. 2014)

  • Psilocybin induced mystical experiences, positive changes in life satisfaction, as well as long-term personality changes, in particular, the personality trait of openness increased. Openness as one of the five personality criteria can be significantly changed in the long term by a single dose of psilocybin. Especially if a person has a mystical experience during use (Griffiths et al. 2011)

  • Openness encompasses personality traits such as appreciation for new experiences, breadth of imagination, finding value in aesthetics, emotionality, curiosity and creativity, increased thirst for knowledge, broadening of the mind, and the ability to see new possibilities where they were not seen. (MacLean et al. 2011).
